About Us 

Age Concern Forest of Dean is an independent registered Charity number 1019011 and a Company limited by guarantee. We provide two areas of support to elderly, isolated and vulnerable persons in the Forest of Dean region of Gloucestershire: a Meals-on-Wheels delivery  service and Befriending service.

Our Services

Meals Service

We provide hot, nutritious, freshly prepared three course meals to our target clientele five days a week throughout the year. The food is delivered to our clients' homes in insulated containers by our team of volunteer drivers. The price currently charged is  £5 per meal. For those wishing weekend coverage we can also supply chilled meals for later use. 

In addition, our professional catering facility supplies similar hot meals to some 13 elderly persons' luncheon clubs across the Forest of Dean area. The current output of our kitchen is ca 600 meals per week.

Business and celebration buffets, cakes and other catering services can also be supplied

Shops

We operate two charity shops, one at 6 High Street, Cinderford and the other at 4 Forest Parade, Hill Street, Lydney, both selling clothes, small household items, books, toys and bric a brac. Befriending

Loneliness is a common problem among older people; Age Concern Forest Of Dean has a befriending service managed by Barbara Bevan and a team of ca 30 volunteers. There are currently 46 users of this service. For more information tel: 01594-827927.
